Salad Bowl

Improv is a communal event. People coming together to support each other; there is no one "star of the show", it's all about working on a common thing on stage. As such, we form teams and work with our friends, and that's great!

But what if you were challenged to work with someone you've likely never worked with before?

In July 2026 at Club Diversity, Meat Fish Produce produced a show called "Salad Bowl", with Lisa (playing her character Betty Lou) as our host. We brought together fourteen improvisers from all around town, many of whom had never worked together, and put their names into a bowl. We asked our audience to draw two names out at a time, and those two would then do ten minutes of improv together live on stage. They'd get a short moment to discuss what they wanted to do, but the rest was by the seat of their pants.
